    Paid check# 268

    Work completed:

On 9/9/22 (4.25hr) – Time exceeded carried over from previous block – tellatek.com/web-invoice/c8afb8a175afb0f1fac7e8a6bc83459b/

On 9/22/22 (2hr) Phone cal w/ Margo (and Jo) to review where we are at with the website changes per her document. Most is complete w/ the rest having some underlying questions. We began with reviewing the home page of which we made adjustments to background and foreground images, section by section working our way all down to the footer and making some copy adjustments per Jo via phone call. We then concluded the call and decided to meet again for another collaboration session next Tues. Jo provided much needed direction and I reviewed the next most important areas to work on prior to and on our next call.

On 9/23/22 (2.25) – Per Margo’s suggestions, adjusted site top header menu spacing/width to be congruent w/ the home page. Created a sticky on scroll up function so as to allow for a sticky menu but only when scrolling up, (scroll down consume content, scroll up for navigation). I styled the sticky menu purple and the non sticky gold and adjusted the text from black to white when in sticky mode. I added the script to control this in the footer and then adjusted the home page and the all singular page template to have approx. 60pc additional top padding to accommodate the sticky mode since the menu is now floating above the z-index plane of the rest. I adjusted the techniques blog post page to be a 3 x 2 grid w/ pagination, featured images, titles and excerpts matching Margo’s mock up. Adjusted site fonts and colors to match home page via Elementor’s site settings but still need to go through the underlying theme and/or each page to override hard coded fonts and colors and ultimately get rid of WP Bakery page builder (very old)

On 9/27/22 (2hr) – Per Margo’s email adjusted sticky header bg color from purple to gold. Adjusted the Techniques page title font, added back the read more links, rounded the image corners, adjusted white space for the buttons and the content, removed custom duplicating excerpt text from all technique blog posts, doubled up posts from 6 to 12. To do:
-Site wide – create and introduce search option
-Site wide – investigate, discover and adjust scroll bar colors (likely a plugin) or I have no problem disabling it, I’m not a fan of custom scroll bars anyway

On 9/27/22 (1.75hr) – Create search function with search results page similar to the Techniques grid and add search icon to header with full screen popover and customize for responsive mobile sizes. Identified it is the theme base colors that automatically color the scroll bar via custom css so I did the same and overwrote it via new custom css via the child theme style.css file making the background inherit of the browser standard color while the slider button is still purple matching the primary accent color of the website.

On 10/3/22 (.5hr) – Received approval from Jo and Margo to remove the site scrollbar.  Tested custom css and then applied it to the footer custom css area and verified upon completion the scroll bar is now hidden (at least in Chrome, FF and MSIE).

On 10/3/22 (1.75hr) – Per Margo’s list, I adjusted the text from being justified (which adds white space between words to make them fit the whole width of the container and instead made it normal left aligned, slightly adjusted letter spacing and the box width. I adjusted text title alignment in the footer to be aligned with the top of the text in the Jo Frost logo. I added approx. 25px white space above and below the logo. Made Techniques page title same font size as on the home page. Add more white space between technique posts on Techniques page. Adjust search option to remove hover fade effect and to increase it’s margin from the menu items so as to appear congruent w/ the menu items. Adjusted mobile menu icons from both being in the middle to both being on opposite left/right sides, swapping the order so the menu is always on the right which is more common throughout the web.

On 10/13/22 (3.5hr) – Began creating new header + hero section w/ new menu style that includes a floating header with a gradient light to dark blend into the hero section. Also the logo is now to the left of the menu along with a call to action button after the search function. Additionally the menu has an underline that stretches the entire bottom of the menu items but also below that of the search and call to action button but not quite to the edge of the page. The current menu item has a gold indicator that is the width of the menu item text. When the menu is hovered, this gold indicator grows/shrinks to the size of the new menu item and animates itself underneath the hovered menu item. Additionally I programmed a script to place the indicator under the current-menu-item on page load as well as when the hover is removed so as to return the indicator to the current page item or drop down menu. I began creating the hero section with a picture of Jo Frost on the right w/ hero text and 2 buttons on the left. I am near completion, just need to work out the mobile responsive needs to clean everything up and get Margo’s feedback.

On 10/19/22 (.75hr) – Meeting w/ Jo, Darrin and Margo but only Margo was available. We discussed the XD documents she sent over as well as connecting Mailchimp to her subscribe form but we need to work w/ Jo to get the logins and set the subscribe CTA button in the header and the Cuppa Jo footer subscription form to be hidden until ready.

On 10/20/22 (3.75hr) Worked w/ Darrin and Margo to get into MailChimp. Tried login but was not able to log in when it asked for verification, emailed Darrin asking for code. Worked on completing other parts of the new home page design, completing the as seen on TV logo icon carousel and the Private Consultation section, adjusting the fonts, white-space and image placement for all device types.
