Website Maintenance – PDS/SDS Button Sizes + Change Forgot Password to Lost Password
On 1-20-2026 (1.75hr) – After discussing details w/ Catherine over the phone regarding her desires to further tweak the SDS and PDS buttons so that across all products the PDS buttons (blue) are more prominent (bold text) and the SDS buttons (white) are approx. 20% smaller text I was able to find the product template file containing the code for the buttons and added 2 unique classes so that all PDS buttons, across all products, now have the class “pds-button” and all SDS buttons with the class “sds-button”, I was able to then adjust the css file with unique styling code to enlarge the PDS button text from 15px to 16px also making it bold and then adjusting the SDS button text from 14px so that it was now 12px and added top and bottom padding to match the 30px height so that both button types are congruent in size but the text is less prominent for SDS. I then adjusted per Catherine’s request the Installation Procedures page so that the “lost password?” link text instead reads “forgot password?” as well as adjusted the Lost Password page template title from “Member Password Lost” to “Account Password Reset”, changing the breadcrumb text from “Home > Member Password Lost” to “Home > Member Forgot Password” and finally changing the paragraph web form instructional text from “Lost your Password?” to “Forgot password?” and cleared caches and verified changes on the front end. Also updated outdated plugins to current. Took screenshots and sent Catherine an email of completed work.
On 1/23/2026 (.75hr) – Catherine reached out regarding the website’s breadcrumbs showing screenshots of multiple pages where the “home” link was not interactive. I logged in and checked the individual page templates which lead to the site header template which then led to the header’s template part showing the breadcrumb code which allowed me to verify there is indeed an anchor link back to the home page but realized it is not accessible because when hovering the cursor above the text on these pages there is a banner image with transparency that is layered above the text covering it up. I was able to use the site’s stylesheet to add a custom declaration adjusting the breadcrumb text 10px further down the page so it is no longer being covered by the transparent image. I tested several pages Catherine had used as examples and verified the link is now accessible after clearing the site’s caches. Emailed Catherine upon completion.
On 2/5/2026 (.5hr) – Catherine emailed that she would prefer removal of the “Member” part of the custom password reset functions. Logged into site and updated the installation procedures link from /member-password-reset to /password-reset and then renamed both php template pages /member-password-reset.php and /member-password-lost.php to /password-reset.php and /password-lost.php and then updated /functions/common.php password reset functions so they now link to the properly renamed pages and also the /functions/shortcodes.php as well as removed any test and breadcrumb links from displaying “member” anywhere then tested the password reset function to ensure everything is still working.
