PC Admin for older NEC Elitemail Systems

I was recently asked through a support forum how to administer an older model NEC Elitemail system via computer. The new IT person was taking over an Electra Elite IPK telephone system with an Elitemail “in-skin” voicemail system and the company he worked for wanted to offer employee directory look up through option 1 of their main auto attendant greeting.

CRITICAL INFORMATION regarding IPKII PVA cards

Here is some information regarding newer PVA cards for the IPKII are Lot#G. These cards come pre-loaded from the NEC Warehouse with Service Pack SP01Y.

DO NOT attempt to downgrade these cards to a Service Pack below this level.

How to make the UM8000 ignore the 60 Day License and follow licensed voice ports

Issue: When a CCPU-Us is new there is a 60 day license which enables all 16 ports of the UM8000. The desire is to have the UM8000 only take up the licensed number of ports during the initial 60 day license period…

714 Area code change effects a few things

Ok folks, I had a trouble ticket open regarding a particular client that could not use the call forward all feature without recieving the recording “You must first dial one plus seven one four…”. The client presumed that the access code was being sent twice resulting in 9,91714…

NEC IPKII skips a beat…Call forwarding all calls

OK, folks once again I seemed to have stumbled upon a limitation and have been awaiting resolution from my techy guys for about 3 weeks now.

First, let’s introduce you to the basic idea which I found what could be and I feel most likely is a bug. For the record, the current stable release for the IPKII is 1.62 (unless you purchase the 2.+ version for enhanced networking features). **this has not been tested on 2.+ versions**
