FreedomIQ Hosted VoIP PBX

Here at tellatek.com we get asked quite frequently to demo or test a product and write about our opinions and experiences good or bad. In turn, we not only share this with our readers but sometimes we get so excited about a product or service, we down right want to promote it.

FreedomIQ is one of those products. Over the years we have been involved in countless VoIP implementations involving traditional PBX and Key system platforms. We have had both good and bad experiences. Far too often we are faced with manufacturer product limitations or end-user networks not being robust enough to handle the application of VoIP.

FreedomIQ is a breath of fresh air. Not only is their pricing affordable and very competitive but installations have been a breeze. So far to date I haven’t even had to map ports on my client’s routers and the phones work right out of the box. Activation is a simple process in which you call a toll-free number and identify the MAC address, end-user name and email address.

There are several phone models to choose from; many of which are Polycom brand phones which have a known reputation for reliability and exceptional voice quality.

Moving on to the feature set you’ll find a full multi-level capable auto-attendant, find-me-follow-me forwarding, direct inward dialing, unified messaging for both voice and fax, call center queuing and reporting, a full-featured web administration interface and much more.

Live technical support is available 6a to 6p PST. There are 2 really big things that stand out for me though:

1 – Overflow Protection – With this option enabled you never have to worry about your customers getting a busy signal if all your lines are in use. Furthermore, each line provides unlimited domestic dialing within the continental US and Canada.

2 – Custom Application Programming – Many times your business will require a specific application tailored to meet your needs. Simply pick up the phone and call the Live technical support folks and explain your needs. More often than not, they can set it up for you right then and there without any additional fees. Sometimes more involved applications require a one-time and/or re-occuring fee but so far I have never experienced an ‘NO’ response. This is super-duper important to me and for my clients.

Additionally, the service is Month-to-Month so there are no contracts to sign. There is an option to rent or rent-to-own the equipment (phones) if desired but the fact that I can move my clients away from legacy, outdated systems without locking them into a service they have yet to experience is a true gem in my industry! Heck, there is even a free soft-phone client you could use in place of purchasing desk phones.
