Critical Information

Here is some information regarding newer PVA cards for the IPKII are Lot#G. These cards come pre-loaded from the NEC Warehouse with Service Pack SP01Y.

DO NOT attempt to downgrade these cards to a Service Pack below this level.

Attempts to downgrade these LOT#G cards can cause failure that is not field repairable.

The correct procedure when receiving one of these cards is as follows.

  • 1. Set sense wheel to “A” and SW1-1, SW1-2, and SW1-3 to the ON position and SW1-4 to the OFF position.
    2. Insert card into un-assigned slot and wait for the CF Busy lamp to stop flashing. Approx 2 to 3 minutes.
    3. Directly connect to the card with a cross over cable and browse to the default IP address of 192.168.1.100 (Note: your laptop must be in this same subnet to connect)
    4. Login is admin and the password is password. Select the Registration tab and load the required license/licenses.
    5. From the main page (Configure tab) confirm the Service Pack is SP01Y and select the Browse button to locate the firmware file for the application you wish to run. The firmware file MUST be on your PC’s hard drive and not on a perifial drive or CD/DVD ROM.
    6. Wait till the CF Busy lamp has stopped flashing (approx 20 to 30 seconds) and the channel LEDs are alternately lit.
    7. Reset the card with the Reset button and confirm it comes on line with all 3 LEDs on the back side lit (Master card CM 84-05-03 to a 1) or the bottom 2 LEDs lit (Slave card CM 84-05-03 to a 0).
