How to make the UM8000 ignore the 60 Day License and follow licensed voice ports

Note: Information in this message applies to the following products: Univerge SV8100

  • Issue: When a CCPU-Us is new there is a 60 day license which enables all 16 ports of the UM8000. The desire is to have the UM8000 only take up the licensed number of ports during the initial 60 day license period.

Note: with v1.11 or higher the VM will only take up the number of licensed ports automatically AFTER the 60 day license has expired and the UM8000 has been restarted.

  • Resolution: The steps below will show how to make the UM8000 ignore the 60 day license level (16 ports) and follow the number of licensed UMS voice ports.

1. In program 90-55-01 change from 0 to 1 then 0. This sets 60 free day license to 0 days (program 10-52-01=0 days).
2. Shutdown and remove UM8000.
3. In Web Pro, blade configuration screen delete the UM8000. Note this will also default IP Address settings in PRG 10-55-01.
4. If the UM8000 port license has not been applied yet load the port license for UM8000. (Confirm via program 10-50-02 License No. 1425 for UM Lite or 1401 for UM Full).
5. Insert UM8000.
6. In Web Pro, set IP address for program 10-55-01 for UM8000 (This returns to default value when UM8000 is deleted from configuration in step 3).
7. In Web Pro check blade configuration screen for the correct number of ports allocated.
8. In program 90-55-01 change from 0 to 1. (60 day Free License is enabled for other features).
