Field Report – Elitemail will not boot up simultaneously with CPUII
You can click the following link to enhance the reading of this article: Reading Blinds.
Trouble Summary:
If the CPU is off-line for any amount of time, the Elitemail will not boot back up with the switch.
In the past NEC instructed techs to install the voicemail card while the cabinet was off-line. However, now the only way to get the vmp, vms, fms, cms, or eCTI LX Lite to come online is by inserting the card with the ‘make busy’ switch down, and the KSU powered up and completely
functional. Then after the cabinet recognizes the card you can power up the voicemail by moving the make busy switch to the up position. Also, if the system loses power in an outage, the card must be reseated and reset once the KSU comes back online. This holds true with any U10, U20, U30, or U40 based voice mail.
Trouble Symptom:
1. Power off the IPKII cabinet.
2. Insert a CPU, ESIB(8) in slot1, and VMP in slot 8 with the make busy switch up.
3. Power up the cabinet.
VMP starts to boot up, but then stops and the vmail will never come online with a green App1 light.
